Just had a look and it about 3.5 hours for me from my place, so I'm not too fussed either. If the weather is good it would be nice to do the scenic route.

Hi guys,

As mentioned earlier I'll be taking a leisurely ride up the A5 to Betws-y-coed then most probably the A470 round to Colwyn Bay.
At the mo I'm thinking of setting off from the services at the M42/ A5 junction 10 probably around 10 ish & have a steady tootle up there.
If anyone wants to meet up on the A5 along the way then that's great.

I was thinking about cutting off A5 at Llangollen up to podarosa cafe on horseshoe pass. Then up to A55 via Denbigh. From there its 10 miles to colwyn bay. Defo not the quickest but good ride.?

Sounds good. Best if you leave A5 at junc 3 A41 north to whitchurch where you will come across the famous Raven cafe. A GOOD PLACE TO MEET and a quicker way . I recon if you leave m42/A5 junct it will take about 1.5 hours max to raven. Maybe less so 11.30am ish at raven could be good . What do you recon.

Good call Coventry kid I like it, the road to Denbigh will take in the Nant-Y-Garth pass and also Ruthin town albeit a fleeting view and more interesting then the A55 although if your from outside the area the view of the Cheshire plains, Liverpool, Blackpool etc on a clear day from the A55 is not bad, like I said on a clear day if it's raining it's pooh  tho affraid

The more the merrier when it comes to a ride out.

So at the moment it's as follows,

Meet up at Lynnes Raven Cafe (A41/A49 junction) by 11:30  me, Rudi, Coventry kid, Vermin & anyone else who wants to join in (I'm looking at around 11 so's I can get a brekkie)

Then on to Mc Ds at Mile End roundabout ( A483/A5 junction) to meet up with sparks & co at around 12:30.

Then A5 to Llangollen & A542 horseshoe pass & the ponderosa for more grub / tea  (yay !)

Then I assume its onwards to the A525 & continue on to the A55 jct then on to Colwyn Bay.

Looking forward to seeing you guys & having a great ride to the meet.

Of course if it's arsing with rain I might just go straight to digs but the sun will shine on the righteous will it not thumb

Good question Laurie, well we thought depending what time people get there and if they're not to tired we could have a little tootle up to Llandudno or Conwy and get back to the hotel for say 17.30/18.00 then we need to be at the Toad Pub at 7pm for our grub, if we do this and because we're not all together we could arrange to meet on Cayley Promenade Road which is on the West promenade seafront in Rhos on Sea about 500 yards from the Toad Pub.

If any one attending would like my mobile number just in case drop us a pm with yours and we'll sort summat out wink

So every one have a safe ride up here and we'll see ya on Saturday thumb
